You are 100% correct. It's a fruitless endeavor to argue these things because we can't change it. But if the ratings mean anything then we should be discussing a 150-155 yield for corn and low to mid 40s for soybeans.

One thing I keep coming back to is 14', 15', and 16' all had very large parts of the country with consistently excellent yields. This year every state is quite variable. Think about any field you farm, it's consistency that will get you above average.
