Yes, that discussion was had and the same point made but it tended to fall on deaf ears. If I lived in an area that was prone to experiencing total zero out crop failures I probably wouldn't forward contract much either.
Yes, I would agree if a persons production was that highly variable, straight forward contracts probably should be avoided. Guess that is proof once again that one size does not fit all when it comes to agriculture. |
