Yes that's assuming tile is running at capacity.

I use a lot of 3" here and love it.

It depends on the length of the laterals in his plan imo. If they are long I would lean towards a 4" system. Otherwise I like 3".

I would maybe be concerned about the 60' spacing, no matter the tile size, in what he called tighter clay soils.

Some tighter clay soils just don't let water move laterally worth a crap. I have some soils I would call tighter clay that I have 40' spacing and it needs to be 20'!
