Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | Brazil's getting closer to a good soybean crop by the week. Trump has unilaterally declared war on China, one of our biggest soybean customers. Most likely China will see US soybeans as an easy target to hit back at Trump because they can alway go to Brazil for their soy needs.
Soybeans have been the one bright spot in ag this past year but you have to ask yourself, as a soybean producer, why would I risk planting a crop that very likely can't be sold for money next fall.
I think it's time to pull the plug on soybeans this spring.
PS: Sat, how is a fight over the "one china" policy standing up for America? The disagreement between Taiwan and China is a disagreement between two groups of Chinese. Our interest, if there is one, is that of preventing violence between the two groups, it's not necessarily to resolve their problems, they have to accomplish this. Our goal forty years ago, as it should be today, was to simply provide a "safe space" for Taiwan & China to resolve their differences not to dictate the outcome.
