| I tried drilling brome once. It bridged in the drill and kept it from falling down to the seed rollers and held the oats I had mixed with it too. I covered several acres that should have emptied the drill and found the drill was still as full as when I started. It is possible to get brome with the awns cut off or to cut them off with a hammer mill these days I think or to find a drill made to deal with them. The JD Van Brunt FBB in my possession did not work. I ended up planting brome by hand on a breezy day by holding the seed a hand full at a time reaching straight up and letting it fall and the breeze spreading it. It came up without being worked into the ground. Or without a breeze throwing it by hand.
