rob, we had the same thing happen here years ago, the local coop was transferring corn to a bin site with a tandem straight truck, it was about a three block trip. it had a 22'ft long box, and it was a high side. she'd hold a lot grain and they were loading it up.

sure enough here come the dot, pulls him over and scales him, it was overloaded. the kicker was that they were scaling every load, and had tickets in the office, don't exactly remember how it all went down from there, but it wasn't good.  

figure some community minded citizen from town made a call.
