| I think the biggest issue they're going to run into with a concept like this is safety. Things like object avoidance (people, vehicles, animals, objects) is rather difficult without a vision or laser scanner system. There's a lot of liability on the manufacturer's hands.
Otherwise, today's tractors are already equipped with all the sensors and hardware they need to plant a field with no operator intervention and some are very close to that last step. However, the software to make a system seamless and easy to control like Case's concept shows will require a huge amount of work. | |
