Farms With CASE - 8/30/2016 10:56

Why?

Because for some of us, one of the hardest parts about making a successful operation is finding good help. Some of us view is as a business, not a nostalgic career where we love operating equipment but a process to be studied and analyzed and completed as efficiently as possible so that we can make a living and hopefully increase our overall quality of life.

If you dont like operating a tractor so much you need an autonomous one hang it up. Or hire the neighbor kid trying to get into farming. This is really impressive yet stupid.

I don't think it has a lot to do with whether you like operating a tractor. It has to do with wanting to do the best job you can do. The guys who have 48 row planters and bad pinch rows because of the CCS tank in the middle and the huge tractor on the front and the huge cart being pulled behind can go to four 12 row planters without trying to find four operators to run them. The four 12 row planters can be doing just as many acres per hour as the one 48 row planter and they can be doing a better job because the expert guy that would normally be driving one of them could be running around on the UTV behind them all day checking much more than he would normally be checking.

How many of you want to be replaced by a robot? It will be like the manufacturing industry where there used to be 20 guys working on the line and now there is 3. One to oversee the robots, one technician, and one to supervise it all.

Yes, it will. But the problem now is finding competent people to run the equipment so I don't think it's a big loss.
