| I've had issues with acid reflux for 2-3 years. Last year in late August I had my schotskie's (sp?) ring stretched which helped . I had been taking Aleve for several years for joint pain and the doctor took me off of that. In Dec I started having terrible back pain and after having x-rays & a MRI, maybe it was a CAT scan, I saw a spine specialist. He said my back problems were degenerative & surgery wouldn't help & recommended taking Aleve. When I told him the other doctor had taken me off of it in August the back doctor said that would correlate with my back pains starting in Dec and said I could either put up with the back pain or go back on Aleve. He also suggested using an over the counter antacid for the AF. I chose the the Aleve & my back pain has gone away. A couple weeks ago the acid reflux started in again so am looking for a good over the counter ant-acid and was wondering what works best. Currently have a generic I got at the local drug store but has to be taken with 30 minutes before eating & can only be taken twice a day. Seems to help some but don't know about the rest of you but I eat three meals a day. Anything out there that is longer lasting or is this how they all work?
