SW Minnesota | I am in Southwestern Minnesota. I move my 1950 house n to a new basement in 2011. We did a 9ft basement with walk out. We used 8"concrete with ICF. Used Formadrain and 2' insulation in the floor with hot water in the floor. I wouldn't want to part with any of the improvements but we didn't have the floor heat hooked up for the first two years. Insulation under the floor helped a lot but the tubes were really nice. My office is in the basement and I am always barefooted there. The old basement was dark and damp the new one is light, dry and comfortable. | |
