Subject: I ran into that when Bt was the big craze back

Aberdeen MS
in the 90's.

The P dealer, my dad pulled the strings back then and only P could be planted, kept bragging how much better the Bt was.

For 4 yrs gave his best variety 40 acres to prove itself. 4 different varieties, 4 different fields. Never did the Bt be the highest yielding/highest gross dollars per acre.

Even the old 3751 alongside the 36F30 (think that was the number) same genetics just the Bt difference. Side by side, everything treated identical, soil type, planting, herbicide, same day harvest.

3751 broken down some, kind of a mess to pick, 36F30 stood like a tree, could nap almost picking it. 5 BPA better was the 3751 and 2 points drier. Can't remember the cost difference for sure. But if I remember correctly at the time, the 36F30 came out to be about $40-$50/acre more expensive to the net line to plant.
