Western Illinois | In my opinion seed is not where you want to try to save a bunch of money as its the most important input in your operation. We sell for what I would call a mid level seed company (Pfister) and I feel we have as good of a product as DeKalb, Asgrow, Pioneer etc at a lower cost due to having some great plant breeders and the ability to use all of the modern traits as the big guys. For us our smart stax run anywhere from $200-$300 a bag depending on hybrids which would run around $85-$125 per acre. So the difference between those 2 prices is basically 10-12 bushels of corn at the end.
