Can't say about Illinois . In Indiana it doesn't matter what you are driving.
its a myth. Show me in your CDL book. Illinois states in in the manual. It's just a lie that so many have told people take it as truth.


1.12.1 — Alcohol/Drug Regulations and Disqualifications
Illinois law provides that drivers operating a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) or a non-commercial motor vehicle (non- CMV) on highways have impliedly consented to submit to chemical tests to determine blood-alcohol concentration (BAC). A school bus driver may not operate a school bus with a BAC of more than .00. A CDL holder may not operate a commercial vehicle with a BAC of .04 or more. A school bus driver or a CDL holder may not drive any other vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more.
