Jets use Kerosene, more or less. Slightly more refined than diesel. The particulates they are spitting out in the atmosphere are huge compared to diesel engines. The amount of Jet fuel consumed in general is also huge. The DEF system complexity means more than just pouring in some DEF in the a.m. You'll see. Thanks for pointing out that no one said we had to like DEF. That's one concern I can take off my mind. Link to NY TIMES article re.
