Subject: RE: Replacement windows

Google casement windows versus double hung windows and you'll run into more information than you'll be able to read. My house had andersen casement windows installed forty years ago and I recently had them all replaced with the same window. The newer windows are tighter, quieter and warmer. Buy expensive windows that are popular in your area. Ask the neighbors. I buy four things that are expensive. Paint, batteries, seed and windows. The casement windows from a good company will hold off wind and water better than sliders or double hung windows. A good installer is critical. Again, ask around your neighborhood. With as much wind as we deal with out in the sticks you can't go cheap. The andersen website will be helpful.
