North Central Texas
Premium OK wire or sheffield that is 121 rated. All 12.5. That little crap is a pia. We have used red brand for electric but never barbed. Everyone has a commercial grade and a premium grade. Big difference in the two even though they look the same.

The life of the fence is all in the ends and corners. We use 2 7/8 or 3 1/2 pipe 8ft apart in the ground at 48" concreted to 6" below the soil line. Make a high h between the fourth and 5th wire and add a drop leg kicker 8ft from that. We keep the t post 15 ft apart so we don't have to twist any crap in them. Pull h every 1/4 mile and h's or line post on elevation changes.

We have alot of 40 plus year old fences that are still as tight and good as the day they were put in.
