Because many of these guys probably don't have hobbies they were too busy working instead of spending money on lake cabins, fishing boats or collector tractors.  My dad still farms mostly just to help me, but what else is he going to do?  He's bored on vacation and needs to keep busy with something, most of the older neighbors (farmers) are the same way.
