Subject: RE: Retirement Auctions in the Delta

Northeast Louisiana
Last time I looked, it was several auctions listed. Few estate sales (death). People retiring. I am hearing some chatter about some farmers being denied a crop loan due to farming buckshot land in drought years. As far as rent coming down, I haven't seen or heard of rent being lowered. As most crops here are on 75/25 or 80/20 share. Very little cash rent here.

I haven't been to any auctions yet. Their is one estate sale between me and 5 lock I may attend. It has a nice sale bill.

On the strange side, I have a neighbor that claims he farms around 30 thousand acres is cutting back. As the small two thousand acre farmers are picking up more land that others are retiring from.

I am glad I retired from farming 5 years ago. But still kept the farm.
