I was on a harvest crew, small one that ran used combines and older support vehicle. Had a competitor tell me the same thing, thought the same thing of him and I was only 17 then.
Your only falling behind if you mentally can't handle being less then anyone else. It's an arbitrary message that only has meaning to the person that utters it.
