This is Mrs. When I had our last one 6 years ago, doctors said not to take them around crowds for at least 3 months. If there are grade school kids around, chances are that the baby could catch what they are exposed to.
3 months? That's ridiculous, what, are you supposed to quarantine baby and mom? What about babies that leave the hospital and go to there home where there are school aged siblings? That happens to millions of newborns, my youngest included. What are you supposed to do then?
Unless a baby is immunocompromised, chances are it will be fine getting hauled along to family events, church, the store, and pretty much anywhere else it's mom goes. The key is that it is with its mom.
