Southwestern Minnesota | I think that there needs to be more information-
How far away and how long will it be? If it's just a few miles or a whole day trip would make a difference.
Is the Mom feeling well enough to go? If Mom and babe can both go, then feeding the baby shouldn't be an issue. If Mom isn't feeling up to going and Dad wants to take the baby for an hour or so, I'd say that's okay if you work it around the feeding time. If Mom can go so she can nurse the baby and Dad is good to carry stuff and help out, that should be fine for a few hours.
Is the baby healthy? Make sure that others at the get-together aren't sick.
Are there other children to take along? That gets to be a big job with a new baby too. Is everyone willing to help out?
