Subject: RE: Morphine for end of life

West of Broken Bow
Many years ago I lost an aunt to cancer. This was prior to various medical treatments for cancer being improved. They ended up doing exploratory surgery on her, but once they saw how many tumors there were, they sewed her back up.

I remember her being on morphine near the end. The dosage given to her(we were told) was high and would result in permanent addiction. But it didn't matter since she was near the end.

Lost another aunt to brain cancer. Surgery was done, but that and chemotherapy couldn't stop it. Dr told the family that the chemo wasn't doing any good. I don't know what medications she was on when they sent her home to die.
