Floyd County, Iowa | Same here. I have QB Pro for farm, and wife uses Quicken for household.
I had an older version (6.0 from about 1995) of QB Pro on 2 computers. Did the books on desktop and did a backup/restore to laptop.
Had to buy new QB Pro this year after getting new desktop with Windows 7. Had accountant bring versions up to date, as there are a lot of versions between what I had and what I now have, and couldn't jump that many versions with data, so he did it for me one version at a time.
I like QB and wife likes Quicken, so have both. I'd probably go with Quicken for farm, but I have 20 years of data on QB Pro, and can't convert it to Quicken.
Incidentally, when Dad was alive, I did his books (checking, savings, CDs, investments) on wife's Quicken in a separate file, and had no issues. | |
