NW IL, Mercer County | Yea its the buzz and possibly a fad, but not for me. Cereal rye has helped stop early spring erosion and improved my top soil "seed bed" area so much. Planting corn into dead rye is like planting a garden. I dont have any yield data to support any possible yield increase/decrease, but my planting environment is so much better, I feel there has to be a yield increase.
