se wi | No-tilling sand is simple because the seed slot closed with the old rubber press wheels and the original bubble coulters leading the way. Could not get the slot to close on the clay until we got curvetines and wavy coulters many moons later. Covers increase yields by providing lots of residue to keep the temperature down, slow evaporation, create and sequester organic N. We want "canopy" from the covers the day we plant, not a month or so later when the crop foliage shades the ground. We think plant created organic N is better than the N bought in town. Corn following a multi-species cover mix after wheat works pretty good here. Corn after beans is seldom as good. We'll keep working at it Garret.
