Formerly NE North Dakota, now NW MN | I've had the opportunity to play with liquid urea but haven't done it because the post-anthesis thing take a pretty sharp pencil as is, and for us the liquid urea was a little more expensive so we just opted for the UAN.
I've hit my wheat pretty hard with it in the past, like twinjets shooting 10 gal UAN with 10 h20 on a 90 degree humid day. the variety was faller and it showed up on the yield map that year, probably took the average from 75 down to 70, so you can lose bushels if you do it wrong, but that was a pretty extreme case and came out not all that bad. (we were just emptying the sprayer, just did a little).
Sounds like everyone is going to do it this year....... Making me think twice about it............. Most of the time it seems we need 10cents a 1/5 to make it pay. |
