39.48, -82.98

That cold you are feeling is caused by winter, not global warming. It is possible that in a warming world ridge/trough patterns will be more likely to stick around for extended periods of time. See what I wrote in the last few days for more details.

We have instrumental data going back far enough to document the current warming. There are no natural climate forcings able to explain the warming in the last half century. But enhanced greenhouse gas forcing does. Temperature (anywhere) does not change for no reason. The homework assignment for science doubters is to find some reason for the current warming. (Hint: Some ideas have been offered and failed for lack of evidence, including "It's the sun," galactic cosmic rays, clouds, ocean cycles, and several others.)

The second part of your assignment is to explain why naturally occurring carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas capable of preventing a snowball Earth, while man-made carbon dioxide cannot possibly cause warming.

If you have trouble articulating an answer, resist the urge to mention Al Gore or other sideshows. Instead, do some actual digging into science. You will be rewarded with an understanding of the subject.
