Only surprise is they lasted 2 years. Mismanagement from the start: poor market research, figuring Canadians would flock to Canuck locations, just as border Canadians would make a day of crossing to get US style promotions (and fillup on cheap US fuel); taking over Zellers locations that were not suitable for higher end merchandise; opening stores before shelves were stocked (and continuing to maintain those empty shelves; sticker shock by shoppers who expected discount prices; Walmart met the challenge in under serviced areas and blew Target away.
