The way it sounds, our friends at the Des Moines Water Works will let us know about a spill. (JK, sort of). Isn't the pipeline supposed to have safety sensors?

You have a good point about "Iowa benefits". Why isn't this treated as public utility, even though it goes straight thru. I would think other state agencies would have some jurisdiction. I also thought it was a couple Billion project, but have no firm idea.

I agree the bond should be higher, $250K will get you 10-15 acres of dirt in this corner of the state, hardly enough to cover a significant issue.
