near Lucan | We used to have two twenties side by side, with a track across the top so there was only 1 unloader that we would move across in Feb. Fill, refill, cover with a 30 ft piece of 20 ft wide black plastic (the extra length was because we needed some to make up the extra needed to cover the 20 ft), lay the plastic down, blow up another part load of silage, cover ALL, with extra around the edges. Most years when we took the plastic off it could have been fed right from the top but Dad required some to be forked out just in case. PITA! Blew one down, with dynamite, built a 30 ft in its place. Look after 6 silos when both places have cattle. | |
