Not sure on silo, but any way to tarp it as best you can. Sacrifice a bit of silage to tuck the corners and it should provided a lot less waste.

Also, Calve the cow indoors, give her a week and kick em out - Provided you have bedding outside, cows and calves are fine outside in winter, out of the wind. If no bedding, leave em indoors. Cows survive sleeping on snow, but calves won't do well.

Feeding the cow better by herself, and in a warmer barn will put more weight on her - rather than her outside using energy to stay warm. Pile the feed to her and leave the calf on her, both will do better. If you want her to continue to gain, keep her in. A 1500 dollar calf and a cow bred back again is worth the 10-20 mins a day it takes to look after her - just becomes a pain when there are a lot of 'hers' but one is fine.
