I agree with everything you said, but especially this last part.

Our basis is terrible for milo right now, it all burned up this summer due to no rain, then there is always the challenge of weed control. I have gone completely back to a minimum till planting system where I run sweeps and plant because we can't start clean with just chemicals. Well actually we can, but is not economically feasible. Then it falls down seems about every 3rd year. So yes, it is a grow it because we have to crop.

Maybe if we had better rainfall I would be more optimistic.


200bu is very hard to achieve. A few have done it, but it is rare.
