Off topic a bit I have a question if I buy high moisture corn (by weight instead of bushels) adjusted to 15.5% do I need to factor in any dry matter loss?
The feedlot where we used to haul high moisture corn used 1.25% shrink factor. They seemed to think that covered the dry matter loss adequately.
(and, Yes, you will have dry matter loss when fermenting high moisture corn. The little microbe buggers that are fermenting it for you are going to eat some of it and release CO2. That's dry matter that's going to float away into the atmosphere) |
