Actual H20 shrink is hair less than 1.2%.

On 31 % corn shrunk to 14% @1.5% =25.5% shrink= 74.5 bu dry corn

@1.2% shrink =20.4 % = 79.6 dry bu.

79.6 - 74.5 = 5.1 bu x $ 3.50 bu = $17.85 or $.178 per wet bu of corn .


If a farmer run 200,000 bu through a $100,000 cost on farm drying setup = 35 % yearly ROI. On the shrink factor savings.
