St. Clair MN; Casa Grande AZ | We always talk it over with their parents.
If they think you are a cheapskate, they will pass those vibes to the kids.
I had a 6th grader walk beans, and the parents were thrilled that the kid got out of the house to do some hard work. I told his mom that I payed $5 /hr to kids that age, if that was OK. She said "I don't care if you pay him $2 /hr , I'm just happy he is working"!
At the end of the day the kid realized why his parents were so tired at night. "This is that 'hard day's work' they always talk about."
4 years later, his mom proudly reports that the PT job he now has, gets him compliments from his boss.
I have a list of kids whose parents want them to work. |
