I bought a farm without calling my bank. I handed the owner a check and told him if it cleared I would buy it. If it didn't I would pay the fees for him and we would part friends.
I had less than $500 in my account. After 3 weeks my bank called me and asked if I could PLEASE come in and do some paperwork!
