Subject: RE: Spring Tillage for Continuous Corn

NE Iowa
growing up I was taught if it need primary tillage in the sping it was moldboard plow only, chisel or ripper was for fall tillage only. But this spring I have seen a few guys running rippers and chisels this spring. these guys don't normal due this either.
I had about 5-6 acres that just got combined due to a consv program that had to stand all winter. I ran the disc over it last week and will FC it before planting.
I would either disc and FC it or just go over it with a finisher before planting, no primary tillage, especially as stalk are already chopped.
not sure what is right. just saying what I've seen and been told.
