We did what you are suggesting twice. The first time it was a dry March and we disked it and got some precipitation on it and it worked good the second pass with a FC. The second time it was wet and we applied the same approach and it was a mess all year. Our plan is if it has any chance of going back to corn it gets disk ripped in the fall.
