Pbutler, if you need more info you might try the Illinois Farm Burea web site. Kevin Rund is the man to ge in touch with. When the state has a link to IFB web site that tells me someone knows what they are talking about. The test for a A class is the same as it is for the full CDL. Ask my wife about it. The ONLY difference is the cost. If the truck is articulated you will need a med. card. We have an automatic. I for one would not have a problem with an auto - only restriction. Part of the problem is the sate just does what the federal does. Not all states do that.
