ecmn
I did a corn hybrid test plot this year on variable land. strip was 1200 ish feet long with a slight rise from "heavy" to light soil. at the south and north end where the soil was heavier all hybrids seemed real close. on the yield monitor the first 100 yards on each hybrid was close, but once they went up the rise to the lighter soil it was clear what hybrids are good and not good for my farm. local test plots have some info to help me decide what new hybrids I want to try out.
