FWIW We don't plant our plots on our best land , we aim for the most consistent fields as far as soil type and drainage. If you don't fully trust the plot results you are seeing the best solution is to plant your own plots, using your tillage/fert/herb practices, on your land. That's the best way to see what works best for you. Plots aren't that hard to do and once you've done a few they aren't that time consuming. Then again once you start doing your own others will claim you stacked the results or that you picked the best field LOL... but at least you will know what works on your farms.
