Subject: John Deere SwathControl

Fulton County Ohio
When leaving a headland the planter clutches momentarily engage in the headland, disengage and reengage while still in the headland. 1800 display says it is sending the correct signal to the clutches. Clutch function does not match signal. Problem only occurs after lifting the planter on the end of the field. If you plant across alternating planted and unplanted strips without lifting the planter, the clutches function as designed. The height switch was by-passed as a test. It had no effect. Rate controller has a rattle in it. Deere says it is fine. B.S. Headed into the third season and no closer to a fix than day one. How do I fix it? How do I get up the chain far enough to get a fix from Deere? Dealer refuses to give access past the Deere district service man. New harness, wedge box and all components at time of install. Deere tractor, planter, etc. Planter functions correctly when entering a headland.
