Subject: Re: John Deere SwathControl

Fulton County Ohio
Headland I refer to is end of field or turn row. It is the area planted first in a field that you turn in as you plant the center of a field. The purpose of the swathcontrol is to turn off when entering the turn row and not turn on until it leaves the turn row. Thus avoiding double planting an area. My system correctly stops planting when entering this area. Unfortunately when approaching an unplanted area while in the planted area the clutches momentarily engage, disengage and reengage after lowering the planter. As stated this only occurs after raising the planter. If the turn rows were in the center of a field with unplanted area of both sides, you could drive through the end row area with the planter down and the clutches would perform as designed.
