NE ND | I tried plowing some crp last fall and ran a heavy disc over some. The plow made a bigger mess than anything. The plow turned the grass under the ground and all the roots on top. The roots on top of the ground proved to be a bigger challange to work up than the grass itself. I ran a disc across the rest of the field but it took between 5 and 6 trips to finally chop it up and smoothen it out. Luckily this field was only 60 acres. If I break any more out I will definately no till it. If it is rough I would burn it and then run a disc very lightly or a chisel plow with wide sweeps skimming over the top of the surface to knock down the lumps. | |
