1200 acres is alot of ground to put back into production in one year. If you disc it once you can plan on hitting it 4 more times to get everything worked down again. I think no-tilling will be your best bet if it's not too rough to get across. Spray it this fall and let all your root mass decompose over the winter. If you absolutely have to till to level the ground do it next spring when everything mellows out and use one of your VT tools.

I wouldn't plan any corn or beans without a full package treatment. If going corn, ask you dealer for the high rate insecticde. A good granular innoculant will be worth the money also if you have a way of getting it down when you plant. If not double up your on seed innoculant.
