Iowa		I used to construct some linear programming models on the main frame at college.  It was an interesting way to study economic issues.  My first pc was an Apple lle.  I used standard simplex in basic to find the least cost way to make my own premix for hog rations during my first years on the farm.  It could grind away on the matrix for a day or so before solving it.  One of my larger models in college was a rather detailed five year plan for the whole farm.  I wonder if it would have taken the lle more than five years to solve it.:)
