Silver Lake, Minnesota | Ed I can attest to the wonders known as Carbonite. I got the service January of this year and it was $55. In Feb my computers hard drive stopped working and even Best Buy couldnt get my data off of it. So I simply got a new computer and presto after the Carbonite restore it was just like having the exact same computer, but newer and faster. Everything was right there.
Then in July we got hit by lightning and I'm an idiot b/c I didnt have the lap top plugged into a power bar, just the outlet in the kitchen and forgot and went to bed. Once again Carbonite saved the day.
The only downside I see about it is the initial upload time. It took almost 2 days of constant uploading before it had a copy of all my files. But after that any new files are added almost instantaneous.
I wouldnt ever not have it again. My data is worth way more than $55 is how I see it. | |
