southern MN | Just got changed over today.
I can get 1meg DSL. It costs $70 a month. Actually, they said I was about a mile from the drop, so I was testing at .9 meg. If I'm not happy with that, they can drop me to 512K for about $60 a month.
Sure is spendy when there is no cable available to compete....... Most city folk don't seem to think 1meg is fast any more......
It is hard for folks not to far from me to get 256k speeds.
I'd say the availability is spotty around here.
