1891, you are making a lot of assumptions There is concern what metals are used especially on the bigger fields. The picture obviously showed what happened as far as breakage. Where do they take 10’ of top soil off and have productive ground? Here they would be took clay for interstate out of some hills, than replaced the black dirt. Interstate was built in 1970’s, still not very productive fields. Glass probably will not hurt yield but it will be there forever. We farm a old junkyard that was cleaned up 40 years ago. It still sparkles when it rains. That is after 40 years of tillage. It’s amazing how environmentalists are worried about here but not worried about there.
