Embarrass WI | Remember the frame of mind when they made the purchases.
Things had been pretty good for a long time-since the war. There had been ups and downs, but the general view was that things were okay and could only get better. Inflation was pretty well entrenched. "You gotta buy it NOW before prices go up more".
Now in hindsight it's simple to see, but back then no one saw the 80's crash coming.
